2017 Motorcycle Adventure to Alaska (Day four)

After another noisy night I woke to the camper shaking from some strong winds outside. I peaked out the window and although it wasn't sunny, the sky was grey and storm clouds were building in the distance.
I had picked up some groceries yesterday so I had some fresh strawberries with my Cheerios and a nice juicy grapefruit.
Because of the approaching storm I decided to forgo making coffee and this turned out to be a good decision as the rain was just starting as I hurried to pack up the camper. I only had to ride in the rain for about 20 minutes because I was headed west where the skies were bright and sunny. By noon it was getting pretty toasty in all my layers of clothing so I stopped for a salad and a nice refreshing iced coffee and stripped down to jeans and jacket.
My destination today is Regina, Saskatchewan about 540 kms. to the west. The Trans Canada Highway (Hwy. 1) is flat and straight but the speed limit is 110 km/h and two lanes so I could really cover some ground today.

I passed through another time zone so I'm now two hours behind Ontario (Eastern Time Zone). By the time I rolled into Regina it was rush hour and when added to all the highway construction and the 29C temperature, it was one place I was anxious to get beyond.
I had lost my ear plugs for sleeping so I stopped to pick up some new ones. In my hurry to get out of this crazy place I ran a stop light and not noticing the unmarked cop car behind me I was surprised when all of a sudden there were sirens and lights descending upon me. I consider myself a very safe driver but when I'm towing about 700 lbs. it's not that easy to make a sudden stop so I accelerated through the light rather than wind up stopped in the middle of the busy intersection. Bad decision!!! Fortunately the young officer was very kind and let me off with a warning rather than the $238 ticket and even gave me some directions to a camp ground near Moose Jaw.
Despite being hot and tired I pushed on to Moose Jaw about 45 minutes more down the highway.
The camp site was perfect but no wifi so I will have to upload this tomorrow at Starbucks.
Just a note for anyone following this blog. I ran into a very helpful techy dude at the coffee shop who showed me how to imbed videos so I invite you to go back to "Day One, Two and Three" to view the missing items.
