Day Seven

Another gorgeous sunny day. Today's journey took me south along the coast of the Bay of Fundy.

I knew that the tides in this Bay were the largest in the world, as much as 53 feet from low to high tide. Unfortunately I also discovered that low tide occurred this morning at 7:30 am which meant that I had missed the drama by nearly five hours.

I pushed on to a place called Cape Enrage which boasts the location of the longest standing active lighthouse on the New Brunswick coast.  I enjoyed a delicious meal on the deck and watched some crazy guys doing a zip line which was strung between the lighthouse and a tower they had constructed for this purpose.

From here I continued south to Fundy National Park and hiked down to one of the many beaches.
I also came across a beautifully restored covered bridge which had existed originally back in the 1800's but had been rebuilt multiple times due to decay.

I had told Michael and Susan that I'd be back around 5:00 pm so I needed to hussle so I took a more direct but far less interesting route back. I stopped on the way and picked up a bottle of red wine and Michael had dinner waiting when I walked in. Fresh veggies from the garden and a juicy couple of slices of prime rib and of course, wine.

After dinner the three of us went out to their little retreat cabin in the middle of his hay field where we continued our conversation and of course, the wine. When it got dark he lit a fire outside in the fire pit and we braved the mosquitoes to watch the beautiful star studded sky above. We actually saw this green light move slowly across the sky and then disappear. Apparently there have been a lot of UFO sightings in recent days.
