The island is known for it's potato's so I had to take a photo of a potato field. Not too exciting but if you've never seen potato's growing ................now you have.
I came across this enormous Catholic Church right out on the coast in the middle of nowhere so I had to stop for a pic.
It wasn't raining yet but it was looking very menacing. I wanted to get up to Cape North and see the lighthouse before heading back to the cabin. The lighthouse wasn't all that impressive but the wind farm display was. I was able to photograph the windmill in action and then the massive generator and blade displayed below.
It was time to head for the barn, as they say, so off I went but before long I had to duck into a service station for cover and to put on my rain suit because the rain had finally arrived. Not knowing how long this downpour would last I kept riding. The plastic face shield on my helmet was nearly impossible to see through with the heavy rain pelting down. It was very dangerous but I wanted to get back more than ever now.
Staying here has really exposed me to a simpler side of life with only a radio and a good book to entertain me. I was thinking last night how different life must have been before all our modern conveniences. The radio station I found was "Spud Radio", 102.1 on your FM dial. Back in Muskoka we have "Moose Radio" so it makes sense that the potato capital of Canada would have a spud reference.
Looks like you are pulling your trailer ..... even though you are only out for a ride .....
