This was the first morning in a long time that I awoke to fairly heavy cloud cover but it was looking a little brighter to the east where I was headed. Being the weekend I had booked my campgrounds ahead of time online so tonight I will be in Miles City, Montana.
The terrain started out with lots of mountains, hills and valleys. It did sprinkle on me a couple of times but only very briefly.
As I pushed eastward the weather got a little sunnier and quite a bit warmer.
Having passed Billings, Montana the geography got very flat. My very best friend, Jim Burns, said that people say that in these here parts you can see your dog run away for two days. It's also one of the few places that you can see an entire train at one time. They call this "Big Sky Country".
I arrived in Miles City around 3:30 pm, got some gas and groceries and found the KOA campground.
I'm finding that if I arrive at the camp site early enough I can have a nice relaxing dip in their pool as a way to cool off at the end of the day. I will be cooking up some dinner here pretty soon so I can get to bed early to rest up for a long day tomorrow. Cheers folks.
