2016 Motorcycle Adventure (DAY Twenty Three)

Wow! A 6:00 am wake up call isn't some thing I plan to do on a regular basis but I had already agreed to go to work with Cavan this morning. We had a quick breakfast and since it was going to be a day of manual labor I skipped the shower. Angie had made us both a nice lunch from last night's leftovers so off to work we went. First stop was the boss's house to get his pickup truck and then back over to the southwest hills of Portland. The job was to build a 650 sf. patio using concrete pavers. Once we got to the job site I was introduced to Pat, Cavan's boss and Braiden, a fellow employee.

It turned out to be a lot tougher day than I expected. We hauled gravel, sand and endless wheel barrows of patio pavers. Here are a couple of shots of Cavan and Braiden in work mode.

Fortunately it wound up being a relatively cool overcast day, perfect for working outside. Cavan asked Pat if we could leave early because it was Angie's 33rd birthday and I wanted to take them out for dinner and we needed a little extra time to get cleaned up. Angie got off early too so everything was falling into place.

Angie wanted to go to the Portland City Grill for dinner because it was up on the 30th floor of the US Bancorp Tower and the view on this gorgeous summer evening was really quite spectacular. We started out with cocktails and black tiger shrimp tempura. Then Angie and I both had blackened yellowfin tuna and Cavan had sea scallops. The meal was excellent and Angie was feeling very special.
It was a fun evening but now that I'm working with Cavan I need to get to bed early.
