EAST COAST USA (DAY FIFTEEN)

This morning after a glorious restful night Katie had us all up and out the door by 9:00 am because she wanted to visit a big wholesale interior design showroom. She is really enjoying the process of creating a whole new living space from the ground up. They are using the equity from the sale of their current home to pay for the renovations on the new one. They will have a much smaller home but their monthly mortgage commitment will be cut in half. She was able to get some great ideas and is keeping a kind of scrap book of photos on all the styles she likes. Katie seems to have a knack for this as evidenced by all the decorating touches she has made to their current house.
After we got back to their place I was presented with a list of repairs that the home inspector had given them to be completed by their closing date. If you know me I enjoy fixing stuff so while I got to work on the list Katie went to the new house to clean up the place with a borrowed shopvac and Mickey took off to get his guitar fixed.
By the time Mickey got back I had polished off three quarters of their list so I was feeling good about that. I hadn't taken the photos of their new house yesterday when I first saw it and really wanted to add them to my Friday blog so Mickey ran me down to the house for a little photo shoot. While we were there we emptied out the shopvac for Katie who had made great progress getting their future master bedroom cleaned up. Clouds had been building most of the afternoon so it was no surprise when it started to rain. It poured pretty hard for about twenty minutes and then stopped. Mickey got a call from the guitar shop that it was ready to be picked up so off we went.
These two don't cook much at home so every evening it's the old, "Where do you want to have dinner tonight?" We settled on a popular burger place called Bad Daddy's and had way too much to eat. Now back at home I realized that I hadn't taken a photo of my host and hostess so here they are.

It wasn't long after arriving home that Katie was feeling the onset of an upset tummy. She figured it must have been something she'd eaten and took some Pepto Bismol which seemed to help some. It was starting to get late and Mickey was feeling pretty tired so they apologized and went off to bed leaving me to get caught up on this blog.
Well, I guess that's it for another day so now I get to enjoy another restful night in a big comfy bed.

  1. Hey Dad! I'm sorry the weather has been so gross. I can only imagine riding in the heat with long pants and a helmet on. I would go nuts. I wish you safe travels back home. Love you!
