The engine had started making a strange noise and I was worried about damaging it so I rode for several kilometers before finding a Harley Davidson dealer. Luck was with me because the service tech. found the problem in two minutes. The excessive vibration of the motor had caused some brackets to break that held on a piece of decorative chrome to the primary cover. I was hearing this piece vibrating while on the highway so I removed it and stuffed it in the camper. No charge for the inspection and I was good to go. The ride today was pretty uneventful otherwise and I decided to stop early near the town of Montmagny, QC. I was set up in no time and headed into town to buy a camera adapter for my iPad. I'm still trying to work out how to post photos. Be patient as I will conquer this.
Dinner consisted of steamed rice and fresh salmon filet. The little vintage Coleman is really a great device.
No sooner had I finished dinner when a major thunderstorm blew in from the SW. I ran inside for cover and because the wind was so strong I had to brace the walls for about two minutes while the wind and rain beat on the sides. After the storm there was a gorgeous red sunset and then it was time to crash. Another great day on the road.
Following your journey day by day. Thank you for keeping us all in the "loop!"
