Day One

My first day on the road proved to be a very good one despite the rainy forecast. I got away around 9:30 AM from my home in Bracebridge. It wasn't raining so I just put on my rain suit top. This proved to be a bad choice because all the road spray soaked me from my knees down. Later in the day the sun came out and I was able to dry out my pants as I rode. The trailer handled like a dream and I eventually made it to my first destination, Camp Choisy, near Rigaud, QC. about 5:30. It was the cocktail hour so after setting up the tent I poured myself a well deserved Vodka Tonic. I fired up the old Coleman stove and made soup with french bread and slices of hard salami. Dessert was "cake in a cup" courtesy of Penny Burns.

By 10:00 I was ready for bed. Read a little and went to sleep.
