There are few things as tranquil as a lake or river in the early morning. The mist still hanging over the mirror like water hints at the chill in the air.
The scenery along the north shore of Lake Superior is breathtaking. I took all kinds of photos so after a two day photo drought you now have some "Group of Seven" landscapes to view.
I made good time but lost an hour when I crossed from the Central to Eastern time zone. I made it to Thunder Bay around noon. Here's a nice shot of the Thunder Bay harbour. You can see the ore ships anchored in the bay waiting their turn to load or unload their cargo.
My goal was to make it to Wawa, Ontario by dinner time. That way I'd ride to Sudbury on Thursday and then have a short three hour ride home on Friday.
I got to Wawa a little after 6:00 pm and having been there back in 1968 (my first epic bike trip) I wanted to photograph the huge Canada Goose statue that stands guard at the town entrance. This amazing sculpture was built in 1960 to commemorate the completion of the Trans Canada Highway.
I was able to find a nearby camp ground and got set up. After a 500 mile day I wasn't wanting to seek out a restaurant so I just cooked up the last of my Kraft Dinner and tuna. A couple of vodka tonics rounded out my day and then it was time to relax.
The weather had changed dramatically and the temperature dropped to 8'C (46'F) overnight so it was a cold night in Wawa.

Brrr, I can't remember if you had a heater or not. Wonderful pics!
