Day Sixteen (66th b-day)

Wow it was cold last night. It got down to 10' C (50'F) and I was warm in my sleeping bag but heh, this is SUMMER!
When I came out of the tent this morning I was very happy to see the sun. It was so thickly wooded where I was that it hadn't come through all the trees yet.
After breakfast I decided to skip the shower and shave and do it tonight instead. I was camped on the Humber River and right near my camper was Great Falls. The ranger said I might be able to see salmon jumping up the falls so I had to check it out. Here's some pics to get the day started.

You're not going to believe this.......I actually saw a salmon leap out of the water but my camera wasn't ready so I missed the shot. I waited another ten minutes but that was the only salmon I was going to see jump this day apparently.
Once underway I headed for Gros Morne Park and drove through some amazing countryside getting there.

Once I entered the park I headed to Deer River, a small fishing village.

This is their time to catch lobsters and crabs so every able bodied fisherman is ready.

I  eventually made it to the Shallow Bay campsite where I am now, set up the camper, grabbed a cold one and went down to the beach.

By now most of my friends and family have sent me the most wonderful birthday wishes even though I'm alone and far away. Here is a photo from the beach that expresses my appreciation to all.
